Frequently asked questions
Is elder care a medical or nursing service?
No. Elder care here is strictly non-medical. The caretaker provides companionship, supervision and help with daily activities, but does not perform nursing procedures such as injections, wound care or catheter handling, does not administer medicines, and does not provide physiotherapy or medical treatment. If your family member needs clinical care, a qualified nurse or medical service should be engaged alongside.
What does an elder-care attendant do?
The attendant keeps the senior company and supervises them through the day, helps with mobility and walking, serves meals and assists with feeding, gives medication reminders (without administering medicines), assists with hygiene and grooming, and accompanies them on walks and doctor visits. The exact routine is agreed with the family before the attendant starts.
What is excluded from elder care?
Nursing procedures, administering medicines, physiotherapy and any form of medical treatment are excluded because this is non-medical care. Heavy household cleaning is also outside the role; if you need that, a maid can be hired alongside the attendant.
What hours and modes are available for elder care?
Attendants are available full-time for roughly 8 to 12 hours a day, live-in for round-the-clock presence with weekly time off, or part-time for daily check-in care such as a morning or evening visit. Live-in works well for seniors who live alone or need supervision at night; part-time suits families who mainly need help with meals, walks or hygiene at set times.
Are elder-care attendants verified?
Yes. Attendants go through document checks and background verification before placement, and their details are kept on record. Families are encouraged to interview the attendant about prior experience with seniors, patience with mobility or memory issues, and comfort with the daily routine.
Can we interview and trial an attendant before confirming?
Yes. Shortlisted attendants can be interviewed in person or on video, and a trial period is normally agreed so the senior and the family can see whether the attendant's manner and routine work. Introducing the attendant gradually often helps the senior feel comfortable.
What if the helper leaves or does not work out?
A replacement policy is in place across all services. If a helper leaves, is irregular, or the fit is not right, you can raise a replacement request and a new profile is matched to your original requirements. The specific terms are shared with you at the time of booking.
